How much does a 12 mm steel bar weigh?
A 12 mm bar weighs about 0.889 kg per metre, so a standard 12 m bar is about 10.67 kg. The rule of thumb is diameter × diameter ÷ 162 kg per metre.
What is the difference between saria, sariya, rebar and TMT bars?
They all mean the steel bars used inside concrete. TMT (thermo-mechanically treated) bars are the modern kind, with a hard outer layer and a softer core, and they are what we supply.
Should I buy steel by the piece or by the kg?
Both work. Jindal Panther is sold per 12 m piece, which makes counting easy on site. Kamdhenu NXT is sold by weight, which suits contractors who estimate steel in kg or tons.
Which size of steel bar goes where in a house?
Typically 8 mm for rings (stirrups), 8–12 mm for slabs, 12–16 mm for beams and columns, and 16–25 mm for heavy columns and footings. Your structural drawing decides the exact sizes.
How many 8 mm bars are in a bundle?
A Jindal Panther 8 mm bundle has 18 bars. 10 mm has 12, 12 mm has 8, 16 mm has 5 and 20 mm has 3.
